I was chosen to read this book because the publishers thought i would write a honest review. It was a definitely a boost to my blogging confidence and i don’t want to disappoint them , so here is my honest review….
I would not consider myself a fan or even a reader of Driscoll’s work, in fact i was pretty disgruntled by his rant about The Shack in one of his sermons (which, incendently had nothing to do with his sermon) So, having some to his new book with no feelings of fondness for him or his thinking, i found myself agreeing and even finding out that i liked how he thought. I don’t agree with 100% of everything he says but, that would be nearly impossible to find
The chapter on God’s humor seemed a bit out of place within the context of the book. I understand that it was chosen as one of the winners of a public poll. and driscoll wrote the top 9 questions of the poll. But i would have used my powers as the author to veto it! 🙂 Not the greatest family friendly book i would be very hessitent with suggesting a young person to read this one. Some of the content of the chapter can be graphic, in fact i had to skip quite a bit of the first couple of chapters. It’s not vulgar by any means but it could make you skirm in your seat a bit.
